CGE wins Real Deals Mid-Cap Deal of the Year (UK&I) for Aurora Energy Research

CGE Partners is pleased to announce that our sale of a majority stake in Aurora Energy Research has been recognised as Mid-Cap Deal of the Year (UK & Republic of Ireland) at the Real Deals Private Equity Awards 2026. The award reflects both the strength of the transaction and Aurora’s transformation into a leading global energy intelligence platform at the heart of the energy transition.

CGE acquired a majority stake in Aurora in 2020 and, in June 2025, partnered with TPG Rise Climate on the next phase of the Company’s growth, while making a significant reinvestment. The transaction marked a significant milestone in Aurora’s evolution and underlined the strength of the partnership with Aurora’s CEO, John Feddersen and his team at Aurora.

Established in 2013, Aurora provides critical intelligence to energy market participants, governments and investors through its proprietary data, analytics and software platform. Since CGE’s investment, Aurora has evolved from a UK-focused advisory firm into a global energy intelligence platform serving more than 1,000 institutions across 40+ markets, with 17 offices in 14 countries.
